So.... I bleached and then coloured my hair with Directions Poppy Red about 3 weeks ago. About 10 days ago I topped the colour up with another pot of Poppy Red.
Now though my roots are coming through pretty fast :-[ My hair is light brown but the roots look so dark compared to the bright red 😮
How can I colour just the roots when I colour it again over the weekend? Do I need to bleach the roots then dry it and reapply the colour all over? Or is there a way of adding the bleach and colour at the same time? *confused*

well you can just straight dye over the roots, but it won't stay put a long, because bleach opens the hair cuticle by damaging it, so the dye can go inside, so to speak. so for longer lasting, bleach your roots, wash out the blach, then dye them =) that's what i do

Yup you have to bleach, dry and colour again. It's the price we pay to look so beautiful every day. 🙂
Be careful not to get too much bleach on the sections you bleached last time, that way you can reduce any more bleach damage to your hair.
As I tend to wash my dreads once a month and re-dye every 6-8 weeks I often end up with horrendous roots. Each time I just bleach the roots and wait til it's damp before adding the next round of dye. It's annoying but worth all the work.
