Homemade green toner for brown hair?

I used a mix of adore browns to go from bleached blonde to brown to grow out my natural colour. My hair grabbed all the red tones and is now a dark reddish brown, but i want to match my natural hair which is more of a neutral/golden brown. I faded it a little and went over it with Adore Medium Brown as I read it was a green/ashy tone, but it seemed to be more violet toned and left my hair a dark, reddish/purple colour.

I was thinking of mixing a brown and green to make a toner to cancel out the red. Would this work? What colours should I use?

Thanks!

That is odd, the Medium Brown I have dilutes to a khaki green colour, maybe they have changed the formula?
Yes,  mixing some green into the browns should work, use a yellowy green to avoid the purplish brown you have now.

I thought so too, I smeared a drop of it on white paper and it was a purple/brown colour.
Do you have any brand/shade recommendations? I'm not very familiar with green dyes having never used one before.

Thank you πŸ™‚

If you want to stick with Adore they have a lime green shade.
Some of the Nice&Easy non- permanent shades are very green based too
