This was bordeaux by Adore. It was a nice dark brown, winish, purple color. Now this. Not into it. I am growing out my roots hence the difference. What would be a good semi perm to do over this that is more of a red base? ANDdddd if I do red over purple will it turn brownish? Should I let this purple just fade out more ? Thank you!

maybe manic panic red passion, Ive done it over darker hair (burgundy) and the color was fantastic. but since your hair is sorta light purple you might have like a burgundy color or a red plum color depending on the dye color.

This is what I got from a google search:

hope this helps πŸ˜€

I recently went from a very similar colour to you to a deep red. I used Directions Rose Red 1:2 Vermillion red. I was looking for a true red but this has come out more on the pinker side of red, so if you wanted to shift it more to a true red colour i'd do 1:3 instead. I've had it just over a week & i'll take a picture in a bit to show the fade.

As these colours are so heavily pigmented you probably wouldn't need to lighten your base much if at all.

Sorry i just saw you are aiming for a brownish red, I'm probably no help at all in that case, but here is my post anyhow: http://www.hairdyeforum.com/index.php?topic=14526.0
