help!
I had not touched up the color of my hair for 3 months and it was still super vibrant but it's definitely time for a change.  my plan was to fade my hair atleast a little bit before putting bleach anywhere near it.

I have tried two doses of vitamin c with shampoo and a little dish detergent (kept first one on for 45 minutes the second for a little over an hour. Even applied heat).

Tried baking soda + head and shoulders and leaving that in for a bit

And last I did a vinegar rinse and let that sit for a few minutes.

It seems like the color has not budged at all! Please give me advice

I DO plan on doing a bleach bath or full on bleaching my hair eventually but i really wanted to fade this color atleast a little bit -sigh- πŸ™

First attachment image is of my hair 2 days ago without having been near blue for 3 months
Second attachment is my hair after all of the techniques I listed above (no difference UGH!)
Thirs is the part of my hair that actually did semi fade.

Can you tell us which dye you used?

Also, vinegar is normally used to prolong the life of a colour, not remove it. It's the same ph as hair and shuts the cuticle. Bicarbonate of soda removes colour because it opens the cuticle. Unfortunately none of the methods will remove staining, which I suspect is what's happened here. Even bleaching won't help πŸ™

I had really bad blue staining on my ends which i had been working around when dying. I then decided to use The shampoo +bleach powder+oils method snd it removed it almost completely. I only used half the bleach powder amount and put coconut oil in my hair before  too. Worked wonders.

Cant link you as i'm on the ipad app

I'm afraid your hair is stained, like Janineb said.... It happened the same thing to me with new Directions Plum formula, my hair got totally green. I could lift a bit of it with a bleach bath and maybe you can try it too, but don't expect any miracles... my hair just got 1 tone lighter, but they were still green. Just a brighter shade

Definity try bleach powder + shampoo & coconut oil.  It should at least get enough out for you to put another color over.

You have to work with the colour wheel then and gradually get to red going through other colours before. Like going for pink (a strong, rich pink) that will get your hair kinda purple and then once it fades you can try to get closer and closer to red according to the colour it leaves you with

Sorry to jump on your thread, I'm having pretty much the same issue. I've used crazy colour peacock blue, it was at a point where shampooing would give blue bubbles but now (after a clarifying shampoo and baking powder wash) there's no more blue bubbles. Does this mean I've got out as much as I'm going to this way?

Also I was thinking about going purple next, purple should work right? I'm blue more than green.

You should be fine putting the purple on top but if you want the blue more faded, try the shampoo+ bleach powder + oils method. Works amazingly

I will! I just want to have a back up plan in case not enough comes out!

Did another clarifying + baking powder and got some more out. Hooray, I might just order a purple and do this until it arrives to remove as much as poss.

My turquoise is also stubborn, but is lighter than what your picture shows. I agree with Realize above about working through the color wheel. I have had to do that before. Move through purple first, and then to red.

It don't half!

Before and after.

What's my next step in removing the rest? Can I do this again? Bleach bath? I need to re do the bleach before applying colour because getting it cut changed the placement.
Or what is a good purple that will cover this? I don't want dark or super bright but obvs pastel won't work.

You can do a bleach bath bath but if you are already planning to bleach your hair before dyeing, then I'd skip the bleach bath.

SFX Deep Purple or Wildflower, Directions Neon Blue, Pravana Violet can be good purple options to cover the color you have now.

I am thinking wildflower, but does it fade blue? And does it go quickly?

This might not be useful or not, as it depends where you want to go with colour. But if you put on rosered or another magenta based red, it goes an awesome purple and if you keep putting on roasted it will eventually go red/pinky.
