I've been lightening my hair for ages now from bright orange. I got it to a blondey orange. Some patches were quite orange so I did some research and I was told blue or purple shampoo would help. I did a hair mask and then shampooed with the blue shampoo I bought. The parts of my hair that were quite orange have gone to a honey/ashy blonde and the bits that were blonde have gone grey/green/blue.
Not good. My hair is patchy as hell. Do I just go brown over to fix it? My hair can't take anymore bleach. I used head and shoulders on it when it happened but it barely lightened it. The shampoo was on for like 20-30 seconds!

It'll wash off. Sounds like your hair is a bit uneven and perhaps more porous than you thought if it grabbed the colour so quickly. The blue shampoo obviously worked though! I wonder if you could dilute it with another clear or white shampoo?
You don't need to go brown if you don't want to. What colour are you trying to achieve? Can you show us what it looks like now?
