Help achieving coral hair

Hi everyone I'm very new to this forum and I really need help with this. So around March of this year I tried going silver and it didn't work. My hair was very yellow because apparently I didn't remove the hair dye from before. I ended up dying it brown with teal tips. I absolutely loved that color. My mom hated my hair and made me cut in May. I dyed it brown after I cut it and it faded to a brown blonde looking color, and now I did a strand test by bleaching the part of my hair that is dyed and putting diluted pink dye on it and it ended up washing off. This morning I got a random strand and put non-diluted pink dye which is supposed to be a really hot pink for less than a minute and it again washed off. I didn't expect it to stay but considering that I read that the brand has a lasting power I expected to stay more than just wash off. The brand is Adore in color Pink Rose.

I just found a hair dye that is coral and I will be purchasing it. I just wanted to ask if its likely that my hair is not absorbing the color and thats why it kept washing off or if it was the dye. Bleaching my hair worked. It became a very light yellow. Will putting hair dye on bleached dyed and bleached again hair work? I really want it to work out.

I attached a picture of my current hair and the color Im trying to achieve in the bottom part of my hair since the top part will be all dark brown.

I can only imagine that your hair is just too dark for those colours - and certainly too dark for coral to work. You need a much lighter base.

It is definitely overall too dark for coral.

If it's washing off of the bleached strand, there are a few different things that could be happening ...

1)  Did you apply the dye over freshly washed and unconditioned hair?  These dyes work like stains, so any barrier on the hair, including natural oils and conditioners, will block update.

2)  How long did you leave the strand test on for?  Again, because these dyes work like stains, they need to be left on a long time.

3)  If you did apply it to freshly washed, unconditioned hair and let it set for at least a couple of hours, the bleach may have damaged your hair to the point where it can't hold colour.  What strength of peroxide are you using and how long did you leave the bleach in the strand test for?

Also, side note--if you've used a permanent dye to make your hair brown and you've already bleached it once, you would be much better off using a colour remover to take the brown out instead of bleach, as it won't damage your hair.
