Ok, been bleaching my hair since I was 14...no problem.
Used crazy colours/directions on the lower half and let them fade out in their own time. No problem.
Got pregnant and my hair wouldn't lift, it went orange so bleached the hell out of it so I could look nice for pics with my newborn. Bleached the roots a few times since then and it just got progressively worse. Decided I couldn't bleach anymore but wanted to hide my roots and look more natural.....this didn't go to plan. Used an Aubergine crazy colour and my hair went bright purple with the nasty brown roots still showing. Read online about using vitamin C to remove colour and while it worked, I now have super fried hair, brown roots and a mixture of lilac and pink in the lengths. My hair is so frazzled and breaking off, I've cut loads off but I would actually need to cut all of it off bar the roots to deal with the level of friedness I'm talking about. I need to know what treatments I can put on my hair other than coconut oil in order to have a chance of saving it and advice on how to either blend my roots into the lilac or just direct dye it brown. Please please help, Kate X

Unfortunately, if your hair is breaking, theres not much you can do about it. Once it breaks off, its because there is irreversible damage. I would recommend getting a good moisturizing treatment without silicones. Silicones dry the hair so you want to avoid them completely in shampoos or any other products you use. Also coconut oil is high in protein so you dont want to use too much of it. Too much protein can also be drying. As for color, brown is the easy way out. Adore have a nice range of direct natural colors. The lilac is high maintenance and you wont easily blend the roots unless you bleach.
