Have I faded the green enough for a purple streak?

I've currently got Sonic green with some voodoo blue streaks here and there on most of my head. I have purple in my bangs and at the ends. I love the color but those really dark colors are more contrast than I want with my white roots growing out plus I wish I had put in a pink streak or two instead of all the green/blue, I miss my pink. Hoping I can maybe make do with purple if I have to.

I started fading just the crown and section in front of my ears using H&S, baking soda, lemon juice and oil soaks. It's pulled most of the color out of my roots and faded the green a good bit on my crown. The plan is to use diluted/pastel on the crown to make the regrowth less contrasty, maybe tone the length with some blue in spots, not sure yet

I want to try to add a purple steak on one side (I already have a purple streak on the other side), it's been dyed several times with siren song/sonic green. My question is have I faded that section in the front enough or do I need to do a few more soaks to go lighter? If I understand it correctly, adding dark pink over green might give me purple, I have Virgin Rose and cupcake pink and Ion Magenta if any of those are the right shade to work? If there is something better I can order it in, MP or Ion are the only brands I can get locally.

Any advice, or potential pitfalls to avoid would be greatly appreciated, I'm still really new to this kind of color, there is so much I don't know.  πŸ˜€

Pic below; I only want to purple the small section I'm holding in my hand. Sorry for the crappy pic, it was devilishly hard to get a decent pic of that little section.

Pink to green doesn't make purple. It needs more blue for that. I would say this is a little too on the green side to be that simple. If you don't want dark, you'll have to fade a bit more. To get a purple over that you'd have to add more blue or a bluish purple. You'd end up with a pretty dark shade then and still risk a muddy fade. I would fade more.

Thank you for the info. I was thinking that I hadn't gone light enough. I take it I would need to get to a pale faded green, closer to where my roots are for this to work?

Also assuming I can get it faded enough, what color would you recommend that might work?

There looks to be very little yellow in that green, i think a pinky purple over it would come out a nice purple, but try on a small section first to be sure you will like it.

It does look more blue on my PC. This morning on my iPad it looked very yellow green. I agree, try a small section.

Yes, sonic green is a very much a green with a lot of blue in it, most people describe my hair as blue, even though I see a lot of green. It changes quite a bit depending on the light.

I'm going to try one more round of fading, then do a test strip with the virgin rose to see how it looks.

Thank you for the help.  ;D

I used the Virgin rose and refreshed the rest of my hair with blues and greens.

The virgin rose came out a gorgeous deep purple over the green/blue and a pinky/purple over the whiter roots. Love the color.

I didn't dilute the VR  because I was afraid it wouldn't cover as well, but I only ended up leaving it on for about 30min on my bangs and front section, then I rinsed and washed those areas with shampoo, twice. Turns out that was probably a good decision because it latched on to my hair, if I had left it on for my usual 3 hours I probably would have had to grow that out of my hair. πŸ˜€ That shade is definitely a color to be respected.... strong stuff.

Thanks for the help!

It did come out really a really gorgeous shade. LOL I realized the picture I took is of the side that already had a purple streak, but they look the same. One was covered over MP purple dreams and the other faded Sonic green and they are nearly identical in color.

Virgin Rose is a gorgeous color, wish I had a bare spot on my head to use some of it straight up.

I think after the blue/green fades out down the road I'll add more of these streaks, love the combo of the blue/green and the deep purple together.  *loveeyes*

Thanks, I really love VR! I bought some up after your suggestion. It's an amazing cross between deep pink and purple. Although I suspect I shouldn't put it anywhere I might want to see my natural color again, because I suspect it might be permanent or at the least very hard to remove.

Each time I wash my hair the pinkish hues show up a little brighter, this is definitely one of my favorite shades.
