I am all out of Adore colours so as a quick fix I went to Superdrug to get a couple bottles of their temporary colour. I've used it before in a pinch and it was ok (not as good as Adore though). But today I noticed a new hair colour by Superdrug. It's called Colour Episode non-permanent hair colour. It's not something that needs mixing so I bought a few boxes, a couple in a honey blonde and a couple in rich red thinking I could mix them.
When I got them home I noticed they are in little mousse bottles so not sure how I'd mix them, and then reading all the print I wondered if this was truly a non peroxide and non bleach product? I think this product is pretty new, I haven't found anything on line about it. I took some pictures and attaching. I'm afraid to use it until I know it won't be damaging!
I haven't seen these but will definitely be checking them out. Looks like a true semi, no nasties in there. There used to be a line of true semi colour mousses in fairly natural colours (can't for the life of me think of the brand, I think they had names to do with drinks, I remember a cherry brandy?) and they were excellent.
I'm not sure you can mix mousses though, you might need to layer them on your hair instead.
Oh ok thanks! Can you read the ingredient list ok? I just noticed how blurry it is after I cropped it!
Just about lol. Anything that is 6-8 washes isn't going to be damaging, and the conditioner looks to be cone free, which is a bonus.
Well I'm giving it a go because my hair needs something and I'm going to be out in public today lol. I used a can of the rich red, so much foam comes out of that tiny can I only used one and my hair is pretty thick and long. I can't imagine this has good coverage but I'll soon find out. It says the max to leave it on is 30 minutes so that's what I'm doing.
Ok I've just washed it off - it looks like it's added depth to my hair and the colour looks more even now. The colour rich red is a nice natural red, a bit like a lighter version of Adore paprika. It's actually pretty nice for a quick fix, the mousse is easy to use and didn't drip at all. It's inexpensive too, less than 4 pounds and comes with gloves and a little packet of conditioner too. It doesn't replace Adore for me but seems like a nice refresher without a lot of time or fuss. Too bad there aren't more colours!
I've always liked the Superdrug toner/semi range, they're good little dyes for cheap.
Glad it's worked out well for you π
I wish these came in fun colours, I just want to use foam dye!
It sounds just like the old mousse semis i used to get. What colours does it come in? I looked on the Superdrug website and they don't exist yet lol
