Before Christmas I dyed my blonde hair red (MP Vampire Red, to be exact), now it's faded, being pretty pastel on top, and a darker shade of pink-red in the back/behind the ears. I need a natural shade, and can't bleach it back to blonde because that would definitely kill my hair (the ends snapped off last time I bleached, even though it was only a bb on the ends). So I need a brown dye, and I'm currently eyeing Adore's Cinnamon, Spiced Amber and Cajun Spice. I don't want the color to be too dark, as I want the tone (shade? Tint?) to be as close to my original hair color (attached), though the color can be more vibrant than the dull mess I used to have, just not (too) ginger.
Has anyone tried any of these colors? Would any of them/a mix achieve what I want? Or would you recommend one of the other browns?
There's some samples of some Adore dyes in this thread:

to give you a better idea of what the color look like.
I actually think honey brown would be a good place to start, to help counteract some of the redness you have from the Vampire Red + to help get you back to your natural color. If it's too cool looking you could add some Sienna Brown maybe, which looks more like the darker shades you have in your photo. And remember, you can dilute the dyes with white conditioner too to make them lighter if you're ever afraid they're going to be too dark π Cajun spice is a pretty ginger color, a lot more orange than what your hair looks like in the photo. I'm not sure about the cinnamon or spiced amber, I'd have to see what the dye actually looks like because the swatches can be really decieving with Adore for some reason
I actually hadn't considered Honey Brown because of the swatch, though I had heard of them being unreliable -hence my post. Now I think I'm going to get it π
What do you think of Copper Brown? Too red, perhaps?
I think I might just go for Honey Brown and Sienna Brown, maaaybe get Cinnamon/Spiced Amber while I'm at it.
Thanks for the help! π
By the way: I've been wondering about that Crystal Clear. Is it a toner or something?
Most clear "dyes" like that are basically glossers. You can mix them in with the colored dye to dilute the color and add some shine, or use it on it's own. I'm not sure about Adore's since I've never looked at it, used it or checked it's ingredients. But that's what those kinda things typically are for.
Ah, I see. Thanks for explaining π
The only one I've used is Spiced Amber and it was surprisingly light on my hair. At first I diluted it cos it looks really dark in the bottle but it was way too light so I applied it neat and it was a nice mid auburn. Faded pretty quickly though. Don't know if this pic is any help?
It does, thank you! π
