Hi! Looking for some advice, I had my hair dyed in a salon, wanting to go grey, any shade just no colour, light/ dark I didn't mind.. Anyway (long process, quite a few sittings, went from dyed black hair, they got it white tones so didnt think they would have issue getting it grey from very light, but they dyed it grey and it went bluey greeny metally tone, with a hint of grey and creamy tones .. Not sure why this happened or what I am supposed to do to get it actual grey (no colour whatsoever) any help is appreciated, I think I would prefer to get it done myself than go back to the salon?
Thanks
Do you know what dye they used for the "grey".
If it was a directdye (i.e not mixed with peroxide) then you can fade the color using anti dandruff shampoo or the bicarb method (you can find those on the fading topic)
If it was a demi or permanent color ( mixed with peroxide) then you need a color remover such a color b4, jo bazz or decolor remover.
Once you remove the color they put in, you can use something like pravana silver to get the grey you want
There is no such thing as grey hair dye. All the greys and silvers are blue or purple based. To get it to look grey with no obvious colour is very dependant on your base and getting the balance of colours spot on.
Can you post a pic of your current colour, knowing how light it was bleached and the dyes that they used would be helpful too.
If it is too blue/green toning with a pinky shade of lilac will help.
