Hair dye and piercings?

Hey guys, I recently got some new piercings in my ears.. just wondering if it is safe to dye? I will of course try to keep all dye away from my ears, but in the chance that some gets on, is that going to be okay?

in my experience yes. but i think the official word is to avoid. I'd put a plaster on if you can

I've gotten hair dye in a cut before (not quite the same) ... it burnt and stung something awful.

So I should imagine it would irritate the hell out of a fresh piercing ... cover it with a plaster or tape some plastic wrap over it.

If they are old you shouldn't have any problem (i have 8 piercings on my ears and i don't have any problem when i dye my hair). But if they are not completely healed you should cover them somehow.

I got dye in my eyebrow piercing on the day I got it done. It just stung a lot but nothing major happened =] I'd still covered the piercing though because it did hurt lol

Best to cover them anyway just in case, a bit of clingfilm should help πŸ™‚

Mine dont react to the dye in anyway (new ones as well), I am farrrr too lazy to cover them.
Its personal though... also somehow I always think if dye gets into a fresh piercings you'll have a tattoo thing going on all over the wound for a while :F
