Hey so I've been wanting to dye my hair purple for awhile and I want it too look like the color in the picture but I'm not sure what dye color/colors to use. I'm not going to bleach my hair first and my hair is a medium brown color. I would also like to use Manic Panic. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hey! If your no planning on lightening it first, use a color that is more of a magenta color. Your already brown hair with a true purple may turn out darker than you want it.
I'm not sure of the color in manic panic, but the color I am seeing in my head is Pravanna wild orchid.

Manic panic is a surface dye meaning deposit only. It sticks to the roughed up cuticle from bleaching. On healthy hair the cuticle is tightly closed and the dye will not bond well. Most of it will go down the drain. These colors are formulated for use on pre lightened hair. To get the color in the pic google image:'hair color 5VV' go get a box dye in a lv.#5VV. You need an ammonia based dye to lift and deposit color into the cuticle into the cortex of the hair where melanin is stored for coloring.
