green over faded purple?

I want to dye my hair dark green (enchanted forest I think) on top with  black on the lenghts. Right now the lengths are a very faded blue/green colour and the top is faded directions violet. will green take over that? Should I maybe mix blue with the green? I want to achieve a nice gradient

If the green you want is dark and the purple is very faded, it'll be fine. It might turn out slightly bluer where any pink tones tone the green a little. If anything, I'd add a little more green πŸ™‚

Awesome! I think I'm going with directions alpine green, that seems to be quite dark. Now that ebony seems to be red based I think I'll use mp raven or maybe stargazer pitch black but I've never used stargazer before so I don't know how long it lasts on my hair...

also thinking of doing a cruella instead of my original idea but then what do I do when I want something else and I'm stuck with the black... decisions decisions

A few people have used the new formula Ebony and although it looks redder in the pot it still has the blue fade.
Adore has several blacks, the run off is much less with adore so that may be helpful if you dont want to muddy the green areas

Adore blue black has a nice fade. It goes from black to blue to silver on my hair.

It depends on how you would prefer it to fade. As Allie says, blue black fades blue, some of the others have warmer fades, more brown. I think Adores Blue Black would be a great choice, what colour is the hair it will be going over?

it's a terrible, dull mix of faded blue, with some parts that are more green than others. my natural colour (blonde) is showing through the lighter parts. so sick of it... I was hoping to get a black that fades green, since it's already going green on its own anyway. I'm gonna try to take a picture of what it looks like.

It's so hard to capture the colours ugh! The bottom part is way more green than blue and the rest of the colours are nowhere as vibrant as in the picture. But yeah it's still quite dark even though it's a dull, faded mess. Violet covered it pretty well though so I'm hoping alpine green will too but maybe I need something darker :/ i don't knowwwww

I think it would be best to use a colour remover and some fading methods to get the purple out a lot more. Purple often turns green when fading, so it could get you closer to your goal colour in that way as well.

I have a box of colour b4 still and I'm using a clarifying shampoo, it's definitely stripping the colour out. I'm getting my hair relaxed in 2 weeks and that always removes some colour too. Colour b4 didn't do much to get blue out so I'm hoping it'll work better this time

sorry for bumping, but some sites say that mixing apricot with alpine green would be a better choice than mixing it with something like apple green, because blue + yellow = green. but purple and yellow make this icky brown colour so I'm not sure if that'd be a good idea... apple green seems to fade minty/yellow so that might be better?
