Hi guys,
Ok, I have a bit of a problem. I've had blue and purple in my hair in the past and as a result, it's turned green.
I want to dye my hair ombre for my birthday so I will be doing it on the 20th of July.
The colours I will be dying it I hope are:
Directions Plum - top and roots
Adore pink rose - mid sections
Directions Mandarin - ends
I have attached a picture of my current hair shade of green. Over the past 3 weeks, I have done 1 full bleach. 2 bleach baths and plenty of vitamin c treatments. I'm making sure to smother it in oils and conditioner to help reduce the damage. I also use Olaplex. I think my hair can manage 1 more bleach bath before next week.
How light do I need to get it to dye my colours over? Any advice? Thanks!
I'm going to delete the other threads you made. We're a small forum and you won't get different answers in the other sections of the forum! π
Honestly, you shouldn't have bleached out the purple/blue. It almost always causes green and can really cement that green into your hair. I don't have great hopes that you'll get it out quickly I'm afraid.
You could try a colour remover. It might do nothing, but it's better than trying more and more bleach baths. If you still have that much green I don't think much more is going to come out with bleach. And Olaplex isn't perfect, it'll only save your hair for so long.
If there's any green left, Mandarin is going to go very muddy. You'd be better working with the green than going against it. Maybe go for orange at the top, going into pink and into purple on the ends as purple is much, much more forgiving of imperfect bases. I'd recommend against plum though, it's latest batch stains very, very badly in a royal blue that is next to impossible to get out,
I was going to suggest the same, your hair looks greener towards the ends so I would avoid placing your orange over that as orange and green will just make brown! I would also advise against Directions Plum, maybe see if there's an Adore purple that takes your fancy?
