Going pink from blue

Sooo basically I've had various shades of green and blue over the past year, mainly Alpine Green (Directions) which I have mixed with ebony to make a teal colour. I have stopped bleaching my hair as well since going green, I am really trying hard to grow it out, and so dying the dark green helped disguise my roots in the process.

(At this point I would like to add that any hair growth tips would be greatly appreciated because my hair is just refusing to get any longer no matter what I do)

I am now at the stage where I'm fed up with the bight blue fade out that I am always left with, and now that I have around 4  inches of grown-out virgin hair, I would very much like to go a pastel/dusty rose pink kind of colour (to give a dip dye/ombre effect). similar to this : https://www.pinterest.com/pin/401524123004736873/

Now I am aware that blues and greens are notoriously crappy to remove, and I am fairly sure at this point that my hair is stained :/  But about a month ago I tried dyeing over the blue fade out with Directions Cerise, in the hope that the fade out would go a bit more purple, but it seems that it ends up just fading back to blue fairly quickly in places, and looks a little patchy.

Has anyone managed to eliminate blue without bleaching? I have heard about vitamin C being quite effective, so my plan is to splash out on some powdered vit C (I know, calm down right?) when I get paid on Monday and try to get as much blue out as possible, and go from there.

Any help or advice would be splendid, thankyou!

(Here is a relatively recent photo to try and show the colour I have, don't know why it's sideways, sorry!)
