Hello forum,
I'm glad you exist so I don't do something stupid without at least getting one person geeing me on.
I've been bleaching my hair and being mostly always Directions Turquoise for a number of years now.
Yesterday I decided I want to go ash white.
I've bought another bleach kit (La riche 30%), some purple toner and some silver thingy shampoo stuff. My colleague then reminded me that bleaching over bleached hair may make it elasticated in a bad way, so get a stripper, so I have some B4Colour coming too - but I've read mixed reviews of this.
The turquoise was only re-coloured at the end of May, so it's still fresh, and that Turquoise does stay around a while. What's my best way of tackling this without a disaster? Not that I'm particularly vain enough to care about that, I have enough hats to keep me going if I need them, even a wig or two.
Just would like to know if the stripper/toner/shampoo thing is right, of if bleach needs to play any part in this adventure?
Ta!
Here's the current level of blue. It's face length but I've got shaved sides and an undercut at the back so there's not heaps of hair, it's just vibrant right now only having been coloured a month ago.
Edit. Tried to upload pic. Was too big but it posted that spiel anyway. Tried to put a link from Dropbox to the same image, can't do that, and seemingly can't delete this message so don't I look the numpty.

ok, to warn you, any colour other than pale blonde to white is difficult. Blue/turquoise to white is pretty tough and needs to be taken slowly.
You need to fade. Don't start with bleach as that's a real last resort.
Starting place is fading with dandruff shampoo. You need to get as much colour out as you can with harsh shampoo. Then you can try the colour remover. It has the best chance of working that way. It's best to assess where you are again once you've done that, mostly to see what condition it's in.
Thanks. I've got some Alpercine at hand. That's pretty vicious. Is it something you can force out over a long weekend or is it going to be weeks of shampooing and looking fadey in public for a bit. I've got a con at the end of the month and would ideally like to have it sorted by then. :/
It's weeks or months to do safely. End of the month will be pushing it. For what it's worth, directions turquoise has a gorgeous fade colour.
You can tone it with pink once it gets very pale, but it won't be white, just ash blonde. Well, sometimes it comes out white, but not often.
And there was me just going to chuck bleach at it tomorrow. I shall learn to be patient then, somehow!
We've all been there. Mostly more than once! I can't say I always follow my own advise, but I always regret it when I don't 😉
Will the B4 stuff do anything to help at the moment?
It'll only do as much as washing a few times with harsh shampoo. Save your money and use it later.
I'll save it until I'm faded down significantly then.
Try soaking in a really hot bath, combined with harsh shampoo, to speed up the fade.
Seconding everything already said, and wanted to add my experience in. I've gone from having Directions Plum (which stains like a *say* very stainy annoying thing) on parts of my hair to having the whole lot white. It took me months to fade down the blue staining from Plum. It did come out, all except the faintest tinge which actually makes those parts of my hair look white as soon as my regular pink washes out.
I used harsh shampoos, and hot showers (though no hotter than usual, to be fair). I did try Jo-Baz on it, but I wouldn't recommend it - I was using it to get some permanent purple out of other bits of my hair, and decided to try some on the blue. It did help a little, but didn't achieve any more than a strong shampoo. I tended to shampoo then condition between 3 and 5 times in the same shower to help fade the colour. Eventually, when it was down to a pale sky blue, I was doing my roots so I bleached out the blue with a bleach bath. Worked a treat, but ONLY after I'd faded it down for a few months.
You can probably speed it all up with more shampooing, but I'd recommend getting some conditioner in there too because repeat shampooing can be really drying.
Best of luck!
Hello. Me again. Whilst trying to bash down the blues in my hair, which is working slowly I've decided the ash white would look good from the roots to mid lengths I have anyway. I've bleached my roots back and I've given it one go with Osmo Silvering mask but it's still quite brassy. How many passes with Osmo is safe, I can't seem to find advice on its regularity of use.
