Right, I have a tube of Pravana Violet I'm itching to use. But my Peacock/Midnight mix is fading turquoise/green - I've done lots of fading washes and two applications of Decolour and it's not fading much so I think I might be stuck with it. Decolour round three is tomorrow.
Now, when I used Directions Violet and bleach bathed it, it went a minty green that covered easily with a bright pink mix (that I didn't like so covered that with Directions Plum). Will Pravana cover a mint green, or should I try to do an in-between colour? I have a tub of Neon Blue that I could use to ease the transition.
Answers on a postcard please!
(Oh god I've just aged myself horrendously using that expression. Hands up who remembers it!)
Pravana Violet is very densely pigmented so I think it will cover. If you want a warmer purple (the green will pull it towards blue as it fades) I would cover the green with pink first.
I have just covered a reasonably strong and bright peacock/aquamarine mix in places with a slightly diluted violet with no problems. Marginally less bright as a result but still great. Be prepared for it to become your new love.
Oh cool! π if rather escape a pink fade if possible because me and pink don't go.
It should cover though it may be more blue toned than the swatch color. You can throw a diluted pink over it first, or mix a little pink in with it, like if you use 2 oz dye + 1 oz conditioner, add like 1/4 oz pink to it. Pravana Violet is so strong a pea size of it will overpower 2 oz of Virgin Rose and make it just look like a cool, almost violet purple. So I really think you'll be fine just add a little pink if you don't want it as blue looking from the green.
OK three goes of Decolour and this is what I have. What do we think? I don't want to do a test strand coz I can't hide them under my hair any more! It is a fraction greener than this.
