Getting blueish silver ombre

I recently dip dyed my hair blue and having problem with the green that is showing through (where my natural colour meet the dyed end). It turns green because of all the yellow underneath and I wanted to tone it out to a grey. Normally I know my hair have to be very light to archive result with toning but I have seen images of grey ombre from black where yellow haven't happen. I am wondering if anyone know how I can get that grey.

To tone my hair, I used directions lavender mixed with conditioner. I also add purple food colouring in my shampoo (diy purple shampoo) but this haven't work miracle so far.

Thanks

It is impossible to get cool toned colours where the hair is only slightly lightened revealing warm tones.
I would always try and bleach all the hair to the same level, and add the gradient effect with the colour rather than trying to create it whilst bleaching  like with balayage or ombre.
You can try to cover it  using a dark grey direct dye, nirvel artx in grey is the darkest one I know of, or a diluted blue black.
