so after bleaching my roots, putting violet/neon blue on and then atlantic/midnight blue on I've decided I want brown hair with flashes at either side.
my hair's pretty blue atm, and was wondering how faded it would have to be to put a mid brown over the top of it?

Very, otherwise it comes out with a weird sheen to it. I've just successfully covered my blue after failed colour b4, then bleach, then brown and then rose red on top before i got rid of any trace of blue.

Your hair is gorgeous, don't dye it brown, I love it!

Considering the theory that blue fades really fast and disappears just as quick as you put it on, I've found it to be very stubborn in leaving!

I can't afford to keep it bright, also I'm far too lazy to do touch-ups every week, so I thought having bright colours at the sides would be easier.

and.. IT'S NOT FADING! πŸ™

Typical isn't it? You can't be bothered with colour touch-ups so you decide to just have minimal colour for an easier job at it and then the colour doesn't fade! I'd suggest making sure your hair is in tip top condition before any severe attempts at getting rid of the blue. My hair is still unhappy and needs cut despite numerous treatments and the fact it was in the best condition of it's life while it was blue.
