from turquoise to purple...

I love my turquoise hair but its time for a change and i quite fancy a nice purple... i was looking at Directions plum but apparently it's changed and is very blue!

this is me at the moment

i'd do some fading and get it nearer to the minty green that Directions Turquoise tends to go but the mid/ends in the front sections of my hair always tend to stay bluer.

i'd like a purple with good coverage but isn't too blue - as i guess the turquoise will add a lot of blue for me! what about SFX Pimpin Purple?

I think that if you used directions rose red over faded turquoise it would come out a lovely pinky purple colour, not too blue based at all. Rose red is actually a deep, purple toned pink, i used it over faded blue and it came out a lovely pink based purple colour πŸ™‚

I used Directions Cerise over faded Directions Turquoise and it came out a lovely pinky purple too. πŸ™‚

Pimpin Purple would be really lovely I think! It's not too dark but has really nice staying power (even on non-bleached hair, a friend of mine had purple hair for 3 weeks+ shampooing, hot showers and all) and is fairly warm so you could put it right over your blue !

I faded from turquoise to the top colour and then used adores purple rage, violet gem and rich fuschia. It covered really well and after 6 weeks is fading to a lovely lighter purple. I'm definitely sticking with the adore dyes, there's also hardly any rub off from them πŸ™‚

I think Rose red or cerise would be good+ you shouldn't have to fade it down too much for a nice purple. Both look gorgeous over faded/light turquoise and blue! Creates a really iridescent purple

i *just* dyed my very faded turquoise-green hair with virgin rose mixed with a bit of atomic pink, and it is very purple over the bits that were the greenest.  i posted pictures in the show off section, including a picture of my base, if u want to see.  in real life, those purple bits look similar to what i remember pimpin purple to be.  but im going to agree- a pink over what you have will do beautifully.

ooh looks like there's lots of options and it shouldn't be too difficult! thanks all!  *1*

PS this is the sort of purple i'm thinking

pretty much slap in the middle of blue-y purple and pink-y purple!

UPDATE - i did it... i didn't like it this morning, but now I'm getting used to it and i do like it more! It's covered so well - i didn't fade the turquoise that much, and did a quick bleach on my roots, but it's turned out really well.
