i dyed my hair green using manic panic enchanted forest. i bleached my hair to a yellow from a dyed black base but forgot to account for parts of my hair that had been bleached in the past, so now there are parts that are a very light bluish green. i want all of it to be a dark forest green.
how should i go about fixing it? do i need to get the green out (how?) and then dye it all with a honey blonde to even it out and then go green again? or is there any way to fix it without the middle step?
help!! ???
In the future it would be a good idea to use a colour remover before bleaching out hair dye, as you are more likely to get an even base.
You could try going over your hair with the same dye again, which often helps to fix some patchiness. If it's still patchy then you could mix a darker green to put over the parts of your hair with a lighter base.
Try re-applying the Enchanted Forest again. It won't damage your hair, as it's a direct dye rather than one that needs a developer. Clarify your hair first, i.e. shampoo it but don't condition it, then dry to at most slightly damp, then put the EF onto the bits that you want to be darker. Personally I found EF did not take well on my hair at all - shame because it's such a gorgeous green.
If your hair is very damaged though (bleaching from dyed black will really take its toll on your hair - been there done that...twice!) that might be why the colour hasn't taken in some places. Try again like I outlined above, and if it still doesn't take then it's likely your hair is too damaged to hold the colour - it will be very porous and colours just don't take on very porous hair very well. Sadly there's not much you can do if this is the case, beyond cutting the damage out. Permanent colours will also not take well on porous hair, and will just cause more damage.
Yeah, you can just put the dye on again. That's almost certainly going to fix it.
