Dying my 10 year old's hair for the first time!

My 10 year old daughter requested that I dye the ends of her long hair a dark purple... She has dark brown hair that has lots of other colors in it (natural -- not dyed)  and her hair is very thick and coarse!

I went to Sally's and got "Quick Blue" and used 3 packets to get her hair somewhat lightened (it was about a honey blonde color) ... then I used Color Brilliance Neon Radiant Orchid ...she kept in it 2 hours... I enclosed it a plastic cap and heated it periodically during the 2 hours with the hair dryer.... rinsed in cold water (since it was only the ends, we did not have to get her whole head wet!) ... then put a repair/conditioner/sealer on it ... it looks very good (at least for a novice first attempt!!), but is more dark pink than purple ... so, my question is... can I put another tube of radiant orchid on her hair and will it darken more or hurt her hair or would have to lighten again in a few weeks and start over?

Thanx for your help!

Denise

I don't know that colour range well at all, but it sounds like you just need to add a little blue. Adding the same colour will just result in the same colour as it fades. And likely the same colour, only darker.

I'm assuming it was from Sally's? Go back to. Sally's, get a blue and then strand test on a tiny section underneath putting some blue over the pinky purple. If it comes out too dark, dilute it with some ordinary cheap white conditioner. It will depend on how dark

It won't damage in any way at all.

Just don't get any Ion brand blues, they are pretty much permanent. The pink will fade and she'll have muddy blue-green-brown that won't take a hike. There should be other brands available there, Manic Panic for sure but I think they also have N'Rage. Neither of those should be ultra permanent the way the Ion blues are.

Manic panic atomic turquoise has changed and now seems to be pretty permanent, so avoid that.
