Dying bleached roots and matching hair

I was just wondering how any of you blend newly bleached and dyrd roots to the rest of your hair? Do you put the colour on neat on the roots then dilute it to top up the rest? My roots go pretty blonde and the rest of my hair has a build up of purples from a couple of different brands. My partner is going to help me do my roots at the weekend, so if you have any tips they would be much appreciated.

Hi there πŸ™‚ I usually let my colour fade for a good fortnight before bleaching, so I get as much of the pigment out as possible. Sometimes for the final week I'll use a clarifying shampoo to force fade it as pale as possible. Then I bleach the roots, while the rest marinades in a ton of coconut oil, and when I top up the colour I do it all to the same intensity all over. For pinks and purples this seems to work really well for me.

Best of luck!

Hi! That sounds a good  way to do it, thanks. My main problem is that I started off with a darker base than the colour my roots come out as (if that makes sense!) I might just put it on the roots first for a little while then chuck the rest on over the lengths. Hopefully that should work! Xx
