Dumb question of the day!

Heya peeps,

I want to get my hair to a more vivid shade of purple, it is currently blackish plummy with a couple of multi-tonal purple highlights that only show up in sunlight - I do like it but I just would like it a bit more vibrant and not quite as dark.

I would prefer not to bleach as my hair is quite dry and over processed (despite the CO and protien treatments) - I know I can do more than one colour remover (up to 3 if I remember rightly) but what's the best way to do it?  Do I do one complete one including all the buffering etc afterwards or do I just do the remover followed straight away by another one and leave the buffering bit til the end?

I'm going to have to use a permanent color this time as my roots and greys need covering too so have just bought the brightest purple live colour I could find but will maintain that and refresh with Directions

A xXx

Purple live won't go purple, it will go burgundy.

You're best off doing a few fading treatments to fade the old colour (I wouldn't use colour remover as it tends to make purple go blue or green), bleaching your roots with a low volume and then popping a brighter purple semi over the whole lot.

Thank you πŸ˜€

I'll have to do that the next time as I needed a quick fix - just did one colour remover and it barely touched it so abandoned that line and just popped the XXL over the top!  As you said it has gone more of a burgundy colour so I put a diluted rubine over it to give it a more definte sheen of colour!  As Rubine is one of my faves anyway I'm quite happy for now....still way darker than I want but it's a work in progress! πŸ˜‰
