Do all veg dyes run for ages?

I dyed my hair pimple purple about 6 weeks ago and it's now faded to a pink with the help of vit c and washing liquid and I love the fade 😃 but will need to redo soon as the roots and getting too gray! I fancy a auburn or ginger colour but will this run as much as a prupre, this is the main reason I have faded the purple so much as I couldn't handle how much it runs as we go swimming a lot and was worried about he running and getting caught in the rain 😳

Have a look at Adore, they do loads of gingery shades and have very minimal run-off.

Oohh minimal run off please don't tell me that as I have a violet gem in adore arrg lol
What would a gingery colour go on over a pink/red faded from purple?

It is likely to pull more on the red side. Try a strand test to check you will like the colour, you can always mix a couple of shades to get the exact shade you want.

Swimming is one of the worst things to do with colored hair, chlorine and salt water just pull that dye out like crazy. If you go swimming put your hair up in a swim cap. Adore dyes are great when it comes to not bleeding but I know they won't stand up well to swimming. The good news is they're cheap and you can redye as much as you need.

Yeah, like spooki says a swimming cap is essential, and you can try coating your hair in conditioner before you put the cap on for a little extra protection.

Thanks for the replies. When I said swimming I really meant paddling with the kids so my hair is never submerged but just a bit of water on my hair and it would proper run! Does it ever not run at all as in when you wet your hair when washing the water just runs pink then when I put shampoo in it just runs loads of purple out?
How is best to colour with a different colour then as I have about an inch of natural hair roots and the rest is a pinky red ? I probably want to go with a auburn ginger colour πŸ™‚

One way to avoid that, dilute the dye with conditioner. If a dye is so highly pigmented it runs with even a little bit of water then you can easily dilute it and it not make a difference to the colour. It really does help with the run off.

Ok so how do you recon adore ginger or Cajun spice or maybe cinnamon would turn out over this hair ? Don't know which to order? Will the roots look terrible?
