Directions Plum over redred Henna

Well hello! First topic here and I'm looking for a bit of advice.
Currently my hair is colored with, I think eight layers of henna, after that 3 layers of henndigo and yesterday I put a new layer of henna on top of it. It's not pure henna, I use Auburn by Spiritual Sky (henne color) and it has other things in it. I know that, I'm fine with that because I don't really like the orange henna gives me but the real red is lovely.
Anyway I wanted to go darker for a little while, the henndigo didn't give me the result I wanted and faded quick, so I decided I want to try some purple. For the last few days I spent literally hours reading about all veggie dyes and yesterday I bought a small container of Directions Plum, since I read everywhere it doesn't fade to blue. BUT NOW! I just read on this forum (no idea why I hadn't found it yet but hey) that it, with the new formula, DOES fade to blue.
And now I'm scared.

So, my (few) questions are;
What will the color be? (really I have no idea how it will turn out) And what will the color by if I dilute the dye?
Will it turn muddy when it fades after a while if I dye on top of the red?
Shall I dilute it with conditioner? (I probably have to because I don't think the small container is enough for my whole head, I have hair in layers but it's thick and reaches my bra strap).
And is it actually okay to dilute it whit conditioner because everywhere I read that you shouldn't use it before you dye because of the coat it lays on the hair.

It's my first veggie dye experiment, I read a lot here but I hope you guys can help!

In the attachment is a picture of how the color is right now. Kinda, the lengths are a darker but on top it's this color.

I have no idea of what color you could get by putting Plum over henna red. In my opinion, the new Plum is a lot more green than blue, when it faded on my (previously bleached) hair it got almost immediately from purple to green. A friend of mine tried it on her virgin, dark brown hair and even after more than a month you can see her hair has greenish highlight from the dye. I'm afraid it would get muddy on your base when it starts to fade.. I'd do a strand test to see what is the outcome.

You can dilute hairdyes with conditioner, especially a strong one like Plum. The color will be highly pigmented and vibrant anyway and you might avoid rub-offs, I've diluted Plum in the past and still it was always very good. Conditioner coats the hair and it makes it a little harder for the dye to stick to the hair, but if you mix it with the dye it won't affect the final result. Just make sure your conditioner is silicone-free πŸ™‚

I agree, I think the blue green fade of Plum would create a sludgy dark brown over that base. If you can take it back and swap it, Rose Red is a dark magenta which you can mix with neon blue (which is purple based) to make a warm purple that will have a nicer fade over your red/orange. Just Rose red diluted over that base would make a lovely ruby red shade too.
