Directions neon blue

Hey thanks for the reply does it fade to a more neon blue? I have just washes it off and it is very purple!

I have always had a bright blue result with it. Was your base very white/toned? Maybe it needs a touch of yellow in the base to cancel the purpleness. I definitely think Directions have changed the formula, it looks different to my older tub, but I haven't used any of the new tub neat, only in mixes.

Hey thanks for the reply my I have attached a pic of my base it was faded blue with toned white roots and I have posted a pic of the result I got neat, I was really loving my blue hair and wanted bright blue but I now have deep purple definitely am going to have to move on from directions!

Wow that is very purple. iI it is any consolation it is a lovely shade of purple 😀
I would have expected a bright blue over that base, hopefully it should fade bluer. For me it has always developed into a blue on my head.

Thanks just gutted ATM as I had a plan to have the underneath hot purple and the top neon blue but it all looks the same lol! is there any bright blue that you would recommend for future?

Atlantic blue is more turquoise toned, it is a deep blue but without the purple base. I haven't bought a tub recently though, so fingers crossed it has stayed the same. I am not liking what Directions are doing to their dyes now.

I've just received atlantic blue actually today and it DOES look purple in the tub!! 😡

I'll let you know if it goes blue with conditioner tomorrow

Thanks I have never tried atlantic blue but I think I am going to avoid directions for the time being! Think I shall invest in some SFX when it is next about!

Neon Blue always looks purple in the tub and even when first applied. On my hair, the blue starts to show after 2 or 3 washes.

I would say it looks a lot like plum to me, I may actually do a swatch later to compare plum and neon blue!

Well I did the swatch have and there is a huge difference between plum and neon blue which I am surprised at! Hopefully it should fade to a nice neon blue then! Going to be giving SFX electric blue a try next time it is in stock as that looks pretty close to the colour I am hoping to achieve

Digression after tinting my extensions with violet by directions: why am I so rubbish at applying hair dye? ugh.. sooo UNEVEN!
It almost seems like the violet by directions darkens as it stains the hair.. Applied less onto another piece. We'll see how it goes. I want pale lilac base, not purple. I'll keep you updated ! x

I'm useless at applying dye too i always miss bits or don't cover completely evenly so bits are loads lighter! I find it even harder now I have short hair lol
