Dark permanent over bright semi

I'd like to dye my currently Adore Ginger dyed hair a deep purple auburn, using Wella Cyclamen an RV level 6 or 7 can't recall. I've used it before, it's very dark. I've been washing the semi out for a couple days with Head and Shoulders. Any reason not to do permanent over faded semi? Any tips? Or am I good to go?

Well the thing is, you don't need the peroxide in the permanent dye. As you're going darker, it's just unnecessary damage. I seem to recall you've got permanent dye underneath the Adore, right? That has already lifted your cuticle enough for dyes to stick, so no need for further lifting.

There is a chance of the permanent dye fading faster because of that lifted cuticle. Is there a reason you'd rather use a permanent?

I'm using the permanent because it's a color I already own and like, and often use as it gets into autumn/winter. I did a strand test and it came out nice, colors on now! Will post pics when done πŸ™‚

here's how it turned out  *1*
