I dyed my hair with a mix of Directions violet and crazy colours (can't remember the shade name but it might have been lilac?) and after few washes with colour locking shampoo, it turned green. It's still green in the lengths where the purple was most vibrant, but I'm worried if I dye it a medium purple all over it will turn green after a few washes?

Was your hair quite yellow underneath? Blue toned purples can often fade bluer, which combines with the yellow tones in the hairs base to look green. I recently used directions lilac, which is very blue to start with, but the pink tones in it definitely fade faster, my lengths are just blue now after a couple of washes.
If you want to avoid a greenish fade use a warmer toned purple, one with more pink in it.
