Hi all! Okay, to give you a summary.
1) I dyed with Directions Lagoon Blue (two applications, first time didn't pick up). It turned a beautiful light blue like in my profile picture.
It faded green as expected from my base but I decided to try Crazy Color for a change because I still enjoy the lighter blue shades.
2) I tried to keep up with Crazy Color Sky Blue BUT it only picked up on the already blue parts. My regrowth which I bleached pale yellow became a faded, muddy seafoam green colour.
Notice some parts are deeper blue? Yeah, those are where the Sky Blue truly latched on. Everywhere else is green and yucky.
3) This green hasn't budged, faded or changed even with undiluted Capri Blue on top, and today I tried Pinkissimo to give it a more purple tone and the blue parts became a darker velvet blue and the roots are still untouched. Totally untouched.
Also parts of the back of my head are still green as though I never touched them. And I specifically applied from the roots first as though I was doing a permanent dye application.
My end goal is a deep magenta shade similar to Directions Cerise or Dark Tulip (I don't mind at all if it fades or becomes a lighter pink, I just don't want the initial colour to be light, ya feel me?). I'm gonna ditch Crazy Color because it doesn't seem to work with my hair and I'm considering Directions again. Any advice on how to budge this goshdarn green out of my hair before I resort to bleaching? I'll have to bleach my roots at the end of January/mid February anyways but I refresh the colour between sessions to avoid damage.
PS. Sorry for the derpiness of the photos, I'm not great at being a model :-[ π
pps. edited the links
you should try the Shampoo +oils+ Bleach powder fading method. It seems to work very well on stubborn dye. alternatively a color remover might also help.
Thanks! I've been browsing the forum trying to bookmark all the topics concerning that method. *1*
I'm leaving colour remover as my last option. Where I live we only have one option and it's hella expensive, so it's much cheaper to do the oils and bleach method.
I hope the green comes out. I still don't understand why the freshly bleached parts picked up no pigment at all. Maybe just a fluke of circumstance. *puzz*
It could be due to many different reasons. If you had product buildup, conditioned your hair before, or even damage. Damaged hair doesn't grab color as easily and also fades quicker because of it. could also just be that the green overpowered the blue, its not easy to find what actually went on.
I had shampooed my hair twice to remove the bleach and who knows, maybe my hair just needs more stubborn application.
I had the same problem with capri blue, i tried bleaching over it and everything with no luck. when i had capri blue in it the second time i found the bleach powder + shampoo and oils helped a whole bunch!!
