Continuing a theme - DIP DYE!

Evening ladies,

I'm still growing my hair bit thinking of maybe trying out a dip dye - how long does my hair need to be before it looks decent (currently almost chin length)?

Also, if I apply a semi (possibly Adore or Directions) dark purple over my existing permanent very dark purple to minimise any further damage then just bleach the ends and do them in a brighter purple - or would it be better to just do a colour remover or 2 on the colour that's on then do a dark purple over the whole lot (after bleaching the ends) and get a 2 tone effect that way? (How will that work with roots/greys?)

Thanks muchly πŸ™‚
A xXx

I think the dip dye will look good with your length. Well done on the growing front by the way! Your hair's looking good.

On whether or not to colour remove, it depends. If you're happy for the top to be black with a purple sheen then you don't have to. Personally I would do the removers just to get a brighter main colour but I'm a sap for brightness. I think either would look good.

Oh and unless you are due a cut anyway it might be safer to do a colour remover just on the ends even if you're only lightening them just to avoid damage and losing your growth progress.

I think your length is ok for a dip dye! I would use a color remover and/or bleach a little the ends and then apply a purple dye, so that the dip dye is a bit more visible

Yeah, I'd try doing a colour remover on just the ends first.
