Concerning unbleached hair and color longevity:

Hello!

I believe I'm posting this in the right place...Anyways, I would like to dye all of my hair (as of yet I've only done streaks) but am unwilling to bleach it. My first pick for color would be SFX Blue Velvet, followed maybe by Sonic Green. My hair is light brown, light enough that I've been told it's dirty blonde by some. My question is this, and please forgive me if it's been addressed somewhere else; I've searched and searched with no success:

If I dye my unbleached hair, will it ever be able to fade all the way back to my natural color? I'm actually quite fond of my natural hair, and I like to keep my options open.

Thank you!

There is a chance it could stain and there's a chance it's going to completely wash out on the first wash, but this depends on the porosity of your hair. You might want to try it on just a strand first to see if it lasts.

Every time I used direct dyes on my virgin hair they washed out in 1-2 washes. I have seen some people complain of staining but this is usually with red colors.

You'll probably get a lot of rub off using these colors on virgin hair. You can dilute them with conditioner with out changing the color and reduce the rub off.

That leads to another question, though... Would Blue Velvet cover my hair alright, or would it turn into something icky? Sorry for the bad picture/"look Ma, no makeup!".

A dark blue is likely to look blackish over that base
