Ok, I PROMISE I searched all over and could not find an answer to my question! *puzz*
I used ColourB4 about 2 days ago to strip some 2 month old faded purples/blues. I am a natural light blonde, and had my hair professionally bleached/colored. This was the second time having fantasy colors, so not a ton of color build up (4 months total). My hair holds color really well, even when I've tried all the other home remedy fading techniques. :-[
After using ColourB4, I'm left with a light baby blue 'do, which I don't hate, but not 100% to where I want it to be so that I can throw some blonde dye on it and get back to natural.
I have 2 simple questions:
1)I was a bit conservative (read: nervous) during the initial treatment and only used a little over half of the materials when I probably should have used all of it (long hair to my breasts), so I've still got some remover and buffer leftover - can I use what I have left even though it's been mixed for a few days or should I just get a new box to do another treatment?
2) If I'm still left with a baby blue hue after treatment #2, will a platinum blonde semi dye cover the effects or make me look like a clown? "They" say you're supposed to dye one shade lighter than your natural tone. I don't want to do a bleach bath, as my hair has remained pretty healthy through all of these colors and prior bleaching.
I'm a total noob when it comes to doing anything with my hair, please speak slowly and use small words *1*
Thanks for the help!
1. No, it won't do anything now. It's like any product you have to mix two parts together, it stops working after a while. In the case of most hair products it's an hour. You definitely should have used it all π the reason they have the two parts separate is so they stay usable.
2. You can't use a semi to cover blue unless it's darker. Semi dyes don't remover colour, they just add to it. So using a semi dye anything lighter than what you have already won't do anything at best, at worst cortainly with what have now, it might tone it to a yucky colour. But also don't use a blonde dye of any kind to remove colour, it's the worst way to remove colour. As dyes aren't made to remove unnatural colour.
Thank you! So another round of B4 should remove the rest of the blue tones? If I use all of the product π is there another way besides bleach that might get rid of residual color or is that something only bleach can do? I'm super nervous to do a bleach bath on my own, no idea where to start or what I'm doing...

It's impossible to say if it'll all go. Firstly I haven't actually seen it! But secondly, you just can never tell. It might remove it all, it might just fade it more. You might then be able to then tone it to a blonde shade with a diluted orange dye.
Bleach isn't even a really good way to remove dye. Again, it's not what it's designed for. It can even make things worse by driving the dye further into the hair shaft.
Have you tried some of the methods here http://www.hairdyeforum.com/index.php/topic,1704.0.html
There's also this, but I caution you to read the whole thread before trying it. I had some issues with it, but most seem to be fine. http://www.hairdyeforum.com/index.php/topic,13842.0.html
