Colour won't stick :(

Hi guys!

It's been a while. I've had my hair chopped! It's been bleached and treated with olaplex. I've had it dyed using Montipello colours but the lengths of my hair only retain colour for 7/8 days. The top near the root is alright ish! What can I do to help? Treatments/colour brands? I know my hair is probably super porous after the chemical treatments. The colour I want is basically orange. Thankyou! Here is a photo. Sorry I look bad haha

What brand of colour are you using at the moment?

Is that a permanent colour? It's probably not sticking because the hair at the ends is too damaged to hold the dye molecules well.

I would suggest using a semi permanent dye like one of the adore colours to go over your hair, as it might stick better and will be non damaging so you can top up the colour as often as needed.

Edit: didn't see your last reply, I know arctic fox is a semi dye, I was asking about the dye you mentioned in the first post 🙂

Hmm one of my friends was getting good results from Arctic Fox, but she's not tried the orange as far as i know. I know the longest lasting colours on me were SFX where I'd get easily 6 weeks out of an application, but on the most damaged parts it still faded after about 4 weeks. You could give SFX a go, but it may have just gone too porous to hold.

Martha, it is a true semi like Arctic Fox. I had a peroxide semi permanent put through it about a month or so ago.

So...which colour is best? I spent £20 on the Arctic fox as I thought it'd stay better. Also what reconstruction treatments can I do?

Thanks. 😊

My hair dresser put some peroxide semi permanents through it to make it last longer but I think it actually just damaged my hair. 😣

SFX sounds like a plan, which colour is the best true orange?

Yeah the peroxide semis will have damaged it further, I'm guilty of that on my own hair at the moment (peroxide semi over permanent over bleach - I only have myself to blame though!)

I only used their reds (Nuclear was incredible, never known staying power like it!) but I think Hi Octane Orange looks like it's pretty pigmented.

Thanks. I don't mind if my hair cuticle gets stained as I long term want orange! 😊
