My old-formula tub of Directions Turquoise is nearly done - I'm not sure if I have enough dye for my next hair adventure, which will be to bleach & dip-dye the ends of my longggg hair - so I need a replacement or at least a mixer.
Depending on how bleach-happy I get, I might do bluey-purple merging into turquoisey-blue. So I'd need a bluey turquoise and a blue-based purple, or a selection of dyes to mix them.
Tbh I'll probably just go straight turquoise, at least to begin with.
Basically what I'm asking is; what are people using now that directions turq is not what it was?
(apologies if I'm not making much sense, I'm transitioning off nightshift so I'm a little sleep-deprived)
I've recently replaced Directions Turquoise with Manic Panic Atomic Turquoise. It's lighter than the old Dir. Turquoise, but I prefer it (especially to the new Directions Turquoise). Can't help you with the purple, though I've heard that Directions Plum is now blue based, but very hard to remove after.
Directions Neon Blue is a blue-based purple, still a bit on the blue side though... I'd probably mix it with Violet to get a proper purple colour. Adore African Violet is also a purple with blue tones
Adore Aquamarine is a pretty good substitute for the old Directions Turquoise. I would probably just get a pink to mix with the Turquoise to make blues and purples (because I am a cheapskate) Directions Rose Red is my go-to pink.
I am absolutely in love with adore aquamarine at the moment. Such a beautiful shade I would really recommend it.
Third Adore Aquamarine, and also Punky Colour Turquoise is awesome if you can get it where you are.
If you're going for Adore I think African Violet is a strong blue based purple π
Thanks for all the input folks π think I'll go with the Adore dyes then.
To the shop! >>>>>
