Blue dye or purple dye/gentian violet?

Hi everyone!
I am considering dying my hair (at home, not professionally). Since my natural colour is dark blonde I don't want to bleach it (it has never been dyed before).
My first question is: do you think blue or purple would suit me more? I've got freckles and blue/green eyes. I believe blue would suit better but I'm afraid of getting green after a few weeks.
Ideally I'd like a dye that fades almost completely after a month or something, but I don't know if it's possible.
As for purple, here comes another question - have you ever used gentian violet to dye your hair? I've read on the web that it works, though I'm not sure myself.
I'm kinda limited when it comes to usual hair dyes since I live in Poland and it's hard for me to get e.g. Manic Panic or sth.
I'd be extremely grateful for your advice. Take care!
Sue

Most likely either of those colours would suit you so just choose which one you like best!

As your hair is not bleached then a semi permanent dye should be able to wash out without too much difficulty. You can find blues that are purple based rather than green based which would lower the risk of a green fade, directions neon blue is the first one that comes to mind.

I feel like the effects of gentian violet wouldn't last more than a couple of washes, but could you order  dyes online? I'm fairly sure beeunique ship to Poland.

If you don't bleach your hair it should wash out fairly quickly anyway, so you could try both!
