So after a lot of thought I have decided to go back to my natural colour and not attempt the purple I want. Honetly, I care more about growing out healthy hair than I do about trying purple. Also I know I won't have time for upkeep this coming year with final year uni.
Anywhoo, I'm going back to a level 4 brown all over. Currently my hair has a bleached pink stip at the side, it's pretty faded now, more a baby pink/blonde.
My question is, do I need to do anything with this strip before adding the level 4 dye over it? When I went from purple to brown, I added a red semi first as a base. Is there any need to do this this time? I'll be most likely using Casting Crème Gloss in 400. I also have some left over reds by Directions if needs be.

You should be able to colour brown over that streak just fine, but is there a reason you feel you can't go purple without damage? You could get a deep cadbury's purple quite easily.
