Arctic Fox review

Hello,

A couple of months ago I decided to try Arctic Fox dye, since my regular dye (SFX Blue Velvet) was out of stock everywhere and I was desperate to dye my hair.

I wanted to love Arctic fox, because it's a vegan company who donates some of their profits to animal welfare causes (which it fantastic!!). However, I did the same thing that I do when dyeing with SFX - got my hair professionally lightened, shampooed with anti-dandruff shampoo, dried it and then put the dye on. Covered with a plastic cap and waited around 6 hours. I should note, I used Purple Rain. After I rinsed and conditioned with my regular shampoo & conditioner, I was really disappointed to see that the colour turned out very light (a kind of transparent look) and it actually faded completely back to blonde in 4-5 washes, despite my good colour saving shampoo. For comparison, I haven't re-dyed the ends of my hair with SFX in a year, and they are still a rich and beautiful purple colour - pretty much permanent at this point, from when I used to redye my entire head of hair each time :p

The positive with Arctic Fox was that there was ZERO ruboff, which is my only complaint about SFX. But that's because it seems AF has very little pigment in it at all. A friend of mine had an almost exactly same experience with the blue - she also compared it to SFX unfavourably, so maybe if you're not used to the crazy longevity of SFX, it's an ok dye?

Sorry for the lack of photos, but just imagine really pastel hair right after my first dye, and then very faded hair by the 2nd wash. Anyone else tried Arctic Fox and loved or hated it? I'm happy to say I just found Blue Velvet online a couple of days ago and put in a huge order, I was starting to panic :p

very strange my friend has used arctic fox many times and the colour is always super pigmented and lasts a good few months before it needs redying, she wouldn't use any other dye now.

I have heard the same, (not tried it myself yet) that Arctic Fox is very well pigmented and long lasting and almost as good as SFX

It's great to hear it works for other people! It really does sound like a fantastic company. After reviewing I tried their blue shade (Poseidon) and it yielded the same results :/ It must just be my hair if others are having good experiences.

It could be that they have changed the formula, they are still very new

Had to order a bottle of arctic fox poison (from Amazon prime) as my bottle of adore intense red failed to turn up.

Just arrived and trying a test strand of the orange blaze with a touch of the red to it but the smell of the artic fox is lovely. Smells like candy, I say sniffing the bottle for a few minutes.

Okay the arctic fox poison is a really strong/pigmented colour. I added a tiny drop to 4 drops of orange blaze and it's noticeably red rather than a darker orange.

Hi! Last November I dyed my hair purple with purple rain, over a very faded pink. It was stupid pigmented. I'm not too sure on how long it'd normally last, because I got into a crazy "I need green on my hair" vibe and I had to make Purple Rain fade out, and it took me like a month washing my hair everyday, and it still hadn't faded completely - I even went out in the sun and to the swimming pool. I'm so sorry you had a bad experience with it! It worked amazingly well for me.
