Alright, here is my background. I started with natural light brown hair with some natural blonde highlights from the sun.
For the most part Ive done- Punky plum, reapplying every month or so to keep it a rich color vs faded. Then decided I wanted to go a little lighter, so went Punky Purple for a few months. Now Im bored with purple. Ive read that people have had good results going blue by going punky turquoise over faded purple. Anyone ever try this?
Although Ive not bleached any of my hair, my hair takes well. But my roots always fade first, and are a light ashy brown. Normally I just apply purple to the roots every 2 weeks or so to keep the color purple. Or just leave it and deal with it until then next full color. If I want to try to go this purple to turquoise to go towards blue route- and I mix purple with turquoise for my roots to get a less green effect over the root hairs, but still get a blueish look, will that work? Or should I just do a purple root, and do full turquoise over that? Or just do purple root faded to turquoise overall. I know if I do direct turquoise it will go green instead of blue there, which Id rather not have a green root and blue hair.
I did do a strand test today, and I applied punky turquoise over a piece of my faded purple hair, and the hair is a pretty dusty blue, that Im willing to go for.
With purple, I normally just add more purple to keep the color. Once I do the turquoise should I do more turquoise to keep the color monthly or however long, or switch to atlantic blue or something else after turquoise to keep the blueish look..
Well, it worked π I did another strand test, a big chunk, then did the rest. Rockin a jeansey blue color now. Haha.
