I have a really bad allergy to bottle hair dye, I thought at first it was just the PPD in it but it turns out that any dark colour gives me chemical burns. I have been gradually lightening my hair with sun in (it's taking AGES!) with the hope that I will be able to get my hair red! Do many people allergic to chemical dye's turn to these vegan friendly dyes?
Where as I will do a sensitivity test first, am i likely to have a reaction to this product?
It would be great to see some other hairdye allergy sufferers who have managed to get the colours they want with these dyes, all hope would not be lost then!
I dont think its that likely but you wont know until you do the test. Make sure to leave it on a good 24 hours and do it on part of the skin that is sensitive....your wrist or behind your ear is good....or maybe ur nose! lol <----Dont do that!
These type of semi perm dyes are usually fine for people with PPD allergies so you should be fine if you have a similar type of allergy however as Kristymarie says make sure you try a sensitivity test first. These semi perms don't have the harmful chemicals that box/permanent dyes can so I don't think there would be a problem but would hate to say 100% you would be ok as people with PPD type allergies can also be more sensitive to ingredients in other cosmetic/beauty items so definitely try the sensitivity test first. Thanks so much guys! ^_^ Although I feel like the only person in the world who is allergic to hair dye >.< It sucks big time!
It's ok Sakura, it could be worse. My mother's allergic to chocolate!
