My hair is currently bleached and dyed with directions plum and has been for some time now. It fades to a turquoise which is pretty at first but then fades to a more acidic looking turquoise which no matter how much hair oil I use just looks washed out.
I've recently been promoted and my new job will involve me being in and out of schools - my employer hasn't asked me to change my hair but I'm thinking I may begin to phase it out to something vibrant but not so crazy. I'd like to try to go a more normal brown before I decide where to next (my natural colour is medium brown but this has become quite ashy as I I grow older) I believe in expressing myself but I also want people to take me seriously
Bleaching isn't an option for me, my hair is finally in good condition again after peeling (all cut out now) so I'm reluctant to reverse this. I've been reading that if I use a red semi then this will neutralise it but does anyone know which red would be good? I'm just a bit worried because I have light skin with pinky tones and I can't bear red on me as it really pulls out the pink in my skin - makes me look like I'm permanently blushing lol
Has anyone phased out faded plum / turquoise before?
If you take a picture of your hair and invert the colours then you'll find the colour which would be best to neutralise your hair, then find a dye that looks the right shade.
If your hair is pale then I'd dilute the dye you choose and strand test until you find the concentration which is pigmented enough to balance out the turquoise without actually turning your hair red.
Once you've neutralised the green you'll probably have a murky brown which won't be very attractive so you could use an adore brown dye to cover it with a nicer brown.
