I dyed my hair with Bleach London's Washed Up Mermaid three-and-a-half weeks ago and it's been a nightmare to fade out, the bottle says it only lasts 2-10 washes but I wash my hair every day and wasn't overly pleased with the results, it was very patchy and I looked like I'd been coloured in with a dodgy felt tip.
Also I'm hoping for a job interview in the next few weeks so I've been trying my best to fade out the blue so I can cover it with a semi-permanent natural colour. I'd use a box dye but I don't really want to use a developer or anything permanent. I've tried various combined fading methods and lots of Tresemme clarifying vitamin C shampoo, and a quick 10 vol bleach bath the other day, which didn't do much except bleach my roots... so now I look even weirder. The lengths are a very pale turquoise now, but it's still unmistakeably coloured.
I've bought some Adore in Copper Brown which I'm hoping to use tomorrow, but I'm just wondering how it will come out. I've never used Adore before so I don't really know what to expect or how well it covers/sticks. My hair is incredibly porous, when I used Washed Up Mermaid the water didn't even run blue so the colour must have been sucked up like a sponge. I'm just worried that I'll end up with a murky green or something.
I've not used that shade before so I'm not sure if it'll have a green tinge or not. Best to do a strand test on a bluey bit and see!
Stingle sampled Copper Brown in this thread: http://www.hairdyeforum.com/index.php?topic=13281.0, and it looks red based, so hopefully that will cancel out the green. But like Glitterpix said, do a strand test first.
Thank you both! π I'll do a strand test on the darkest bits tomorrow and see how it goes. π
EDIT: It worked wonderfully! Bit redder than I expected but it covers.
