(Sorry, I posted again and Idk how to delete the one -_-)

Ok, also I might be crazy but let me post this in this thread as well... I feel Adore comes out brighter with conditioner. Not just lighter, like the color pops more. I tried it on a few places (I was just looking for my fuchsia swatch on my head...I'm a walking test.) And one is super light and faded looking and the other is brighter. They're both over the same bb job and I remember thinking that can't be right, but on my head I did another set of diff colors and the same thing, the cond version is much more vivid. WEIRD??

Here are some pics in case anyone wants reference.
It's VERY hard to get the picture accurate, the fuchsia is much more orange in the left, and light. The right swatch is very bright and a bit deeper.

In the second, the purples photo more blue, red comes out more bright and pink, and the fuchsia comes out more purple than it really is. Even without flash it wasn't quite right. The red is very red and the center and front section is very tulip pink, with hints of purple.

I have to agree with you. I sometimes dye my hair when it's been conditioned because it's much much easier to manage.. I know this means the colour isn't as vivid, & it drops out quicker, but I found the opposite when I used an Adore dye.
I used Violet Gem on bleached hair, & it came out the strongest, most intense purple I've ever had, that lasted for weeks! Weeks & weeks! It faded a little with the first 2/3 washes, then hardly faded at all over the following few weeks, I couldn't believe it.. & will be dying Pink Rose soon πŸ™‚

Okay... I got new bottles of Cajun Spice and French Cognac, and now I'm pretty sure my previous swatches were right too.
French Cognac is more orange toned than Cajun Spice...

Adore seems to be getting quite good reviews.  I've got old highlights in my hair which I've been trying to colour out as I'd got bored with them plus my hair is wrecked with them.  I had been using Daniel Field colour but it's not sticking to the odd greys that I have - not as dark as my hair is anyway.

I think my natural colour is a medium/dark brown (who knows, it's a while since I've seen it - it's really dark underneath) but it's got a lot of red tones in it which I like.  I was going to just get the Adore Medium Brown but reading it's got a green base (don't need the highlights fading to green).

Can anyone recommend a brown that's red based?

Also, is it vegan/cruelty free? And has it got peroxide/ammonia in it?

There looks some nice reds in the adore brand. I was watching some reviews in YouTube on adore and there are some good reviews on it.

I might try the intense red.

My bottles of Adore African Violet arrived recently and i thought id upload a pic, all the pictures ive seen of African Violet looked rather bluey to me so i was pleasantly surprised at the lovely inky purple colour it turned out to be

Has anyone had any experience with these dyes and grey hair? My poor aunty is allergic to permanent dye and she wants to try a semi but they need to cover greys. Thanks in advance πŸ™‚

oh wow i didnt know that! i was wondering what makes it able to cover greys better, as semis usually have a hard time covering them and sticking, so i looked up the ingredients. this is for the jet black but im sure theyre all alike except for the actual colors in them:

Water (Aqua), PEG 50 tallowamide, Tocopherol acetate (vitamin E), Laurel Glucoside, Ethoxydiglycol Tetrasodium EDTA, Glycerin (vegen), Propylene Glycol, Polyquaternium 10, Simethicone, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Jojoba Oil, Triethanolamine, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis Gel), Chamomile, Grapefruit, Ginseng, Green Tea

the simethicone caught my eye, maybe that is what makes it cover greys better and make it stick? theres some infro about simethicone here:

I'm always upset that these don't photograph the way they are (actually, they come out better on my phone, idk why online they aren't as vivid πŸ™ ) But here's what I got. Some are doubles that I or others have already posted but I thought I'd put them all together. The first is my newest, Hot Pink. I went with that over the Pink Fire, which was only slightly lighter, maybe a teeenyy bit more orangey. I was considering Raspberry Twist and possibly Pink Rose again but those are way darker than the other two. Much darker than the images on the bottle/swatches (I know they aren't accurate, just in case you wanted a verbal description) Pink Rose is in the gallery but Raspberry Twist is deeper, like right before fuchsia.  Another reason was that I went to two stores and many of those light pinks were cloudy. πŸ™ I think its because they are kind of old, but I went with one that seemed crisper. When I got home and poured it, it's actually transparent, but stains fingers (and hair hopefully!) all the same. When I added conditioner it became a nice hot pink opaque shade. πŸ˜€ Excited for that. Doing a strand test now of one regular power and one diluted.

Update: 2nd to bottom pic is the strand test of Adore Hot Pink. SO freaking hard to capture!! The black clip is *with conditioner*, the white/clear clip is *without* aka full power and the last strand is what I started with, a faded type of pink. Both were washed the same, left on the same amount of time etc. I've had this with Adore before. I know its sounds crazy but it always seems darker with the conditioner. It's not the first time and I didn't mix them up!  I think it may be that though it's lighter, it can penetrate fully without the conditioner and therefore it looks more vibrant/lighter. Or maybe my conditioner just has a chemical that darkens the dye...??

Ugh I don't like how it looks with the rest of my hair. Way too bright (I guess that's a good thing.) I did another with one DROP Hot Pink and one DROP Violet Gem in a dollop of conditioner on the blonde roots.  Better....slight change but don't want it to be too crazy, so for those who want bright pink hair, you can use this! Lol.

I used L'oreal Advannced smoothing keratin conditioner. Only because I don't really love it and I use more powerful stuff when I wash lol. Isn't it weird how they come out darker with conditioner on me? Not all dyes do this, but I've noticed it with Adore. Things like pravana come out lighter. In real life these are way hotter, but not as much as they would be on light blonde hair. (I started sort of pink as you saw) So yea, it's an ok color, but not my favorite!!

Here is a photo of the 3 adore dyes I have at the moment. The copper brown seems to have a much more pinkish base than I expected.

I know, but I have used it before and it was a nice kind of gingery brown, not pink/red at all. Weird.
