Kayerleigh, I'm sorry, I can't really comment on the grey hair bit. I have the odd grey hair here and there, but mine seem to bleach pretty easilly with XXL Platinum and all of the semis I've used have stuck very well to them once bleached. None of them stick very well on my unbleached roots.
Soundasleepx, Adore is a relatively new brand in the world of semis. Beeunique only began stocking it around a year ago. They seem to last a decent length of time and rub off is definitely much less than any other brand of red I've used. I think once I use up my current batch of them, though, I'll be going back to SFX, purely because I miss having UV reactive red. If Adore offered a UV reactive red, I'd probably stick with them. I'll definitely be coming back to them at some point in the future, though.
I so wanted to chip in with pictures of the two Adore dyes I have at the moment, Cajun Spice and French Cognac, but not having access to a good-enough quality camera, it seems I can't π (The photos I tried to take are too unclear compared to ones posted here.) But anyway, these two shades are among the most natural Adore ones, both brown-based; Cajun Spice is a bit darker of the two, a fairly vibrant orange-red, while French Cognac is lighter and looks to be not as vibrant (though I haven't tried it yet, only Cajun Spice so far). π
Ooh Rosetta could you post the pictures anyway? I'm really curious what those colours look like.
Oh, I'm so sorry Valaina, turns out I can't do it in any case - one can only post links when one has at least 30 posts! π And I don't think there's any other way to post a picture than by a link...
If you click the Additional Options link under the Reply box you can attach a photo there π
^ Oh, thanks so much, TabithaBlue! π
Ok, here's my picture of Cajun Spice and French Cognac, though as I said I'm really ashamed of the picture quality... One can hardly even see the shade names (even though I re-wrote them capital letters to make them clearer!). But that's the best my camera can do, I'm afraid... They are both somewhat more vibrant IRL, too, at least Cajun Spice.
(picture removed)
Ooh thanks! The photo isn't that clear, no ;), but i think I can tell these colours are too brownish for me. I'm looking for a more orange/gingery colour. It's really hard to tell anyway though! As it could react so differently on actual hair.
Thanks anyway! It helped!
(btw, you could try holding your camera not so close to the subject, and cropping the picture later if needed. I think that's what went wrong. You could try cleaning your lens too?)
^ All of those things have been tried (loads of cropping, editing, taking pictures from all distances) and it didn't help; believe me, it is the camera! I did warn you π
(I will probably remove the photo later on, as the quality is what it is.)
I got a bottle of French Cognac yesterday so here is a clearer shot for that one π When I opened the bottle, it looked gorgeous like a true auburn. But spread over white paper I can see the base is quite pink! Will just have to see how it turns out I guess - dyeing on Friday and will share my results
I just bought some adore mahogany, I'm excited to see what it's like! Will post base on here
Got another two bases to show off. I'm excited to start trying out some of the other lighter browns once we get more into summer so will have more photos to add as time goes by.
Adore Aquamarine and Medium Brown.
I used the aquamarine on a blonde extension and it's come out a lil tealy which is what I expect but on paper here looks like a good true blue. I am having a little trouble decifying medium brown here, maybe ash based? It looks like another green tint to me.
That medium brown definitely looks ashy π
That Aquamarine is gorgeous! If I was allowed to do any colour, I'd have it paired with Cupcake Pink.
Dayam! I am loving Aquamarine, Rich Fuchsia and Violet Gem!
