adore advice

*boo* So my hair has turned into an epic fail, but I have a wedding next weekend and I’m far too dark to like it (considering I usually like black, maybe I’ve finally seen the light and realised it doesn’t really suit me!)

I was having highlights for a while and then decided I couldn’t really be bothered to go to the salon on the other side of the city (which was the best one I’d found) and I was just going to stay a medium-ish brown, which I quite liked and suited my pink based skin tone. I dyed my hair 3 weeks ago and it went black, the box was definitely brown…it’s fading slightly, I’ve tried washing up liquid soaked and clarifying shampoo but don’t want to try too many different options because my hair is nice and healthy and growing well so I don’t want to risk drying it out!! If I put a colour remover on and it went the usual orange, what would be the best adore colour? Do I dilute a darker brown? The lighter ones look too light for what I’d want. Bit worried that that’s risky because of the wedding next weekend, I don’t want to look ridonculous!

What colour do you actually want? Pics would help too
If a colour remover leaves you with too much warmth you can tone with blue/violet. Of the Adore browns, Medium brown is very ash/green based
If it were me, I would just wash it a lot with strong shampoo, rather than mess around directly before an event.
The black you are experiencing is box dye build up. Permanent dye doesn't lift old dye, so you get a darker result every time you apply it.

Hey, I don't think it's build up because it's only the second time I've dyed my hair with a box in about 18 months I think as I was topping up with semis this time last year! I've attached a picture of my hair before (festival one, I'm the one with brown hair lol) I dyed it and that was what I was trying to maintain, it was just a little patchy/fading so I wanted to top it up. The picture with the kiddies is how it's come out after fading for 3 weeks and I just think it's a little dark. If I can get back to the first photo without the patches I'd be pretty happy!

Will the ash/green tones in the medium brown be what I'm looking for?

You used the same exact brand and shade as before?
I think it would go quite orange with a colour remover, because it is a warm brown. I would do dandruff shampoo caps (cover, heat with a hairdryer, leave for half an hour, rinse in hot water) and see how much it lightens
