A 'natural' dusty pink/rose gold?

Hello,

I've quite recently cut most of my hair off and have a pixie cut in my natural colour, a mid-brown. I keep seeing pictures of people with their hair a sort of 'natural' brownish-pink or blondish-pink, and I absolutely love it - this is probably the best picture I've found of the sort of colour I'm looking for. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/437834394994390518/ , or this - https://instagram.com/p/uG4GD9A7xq/

I've absolutely no idea how to achieve this. It seems much trickier than getting a clear bright colour. Is it a case of just putting a pastel over a slightly darker base than I'd normally bleach to, or would that affect the tone of the pink too much? Is it a case of toning the pink down by mixing with a different dye first?
