sorry about the use of links btw, i'm visiting a friend and haven't got a laptop with me D:
last month i got my hair salon-dyed a permanent bright orangey/reddy/ginger colour, with the ends of my hair fading to blonde (a sort of ombre effect ;D). this is it here: 
i LOVED it, but the vibrancy faded pretty quickly to a gingery/auburn shade: 
on friday, i set out on a week of visiting friends before my second semester of uni starts, and i decided i wanted to stick a semi-permanent colour in to revive my ginger. i eventually settled on directions coral red, which seems to always come out a nice warm orangey colour and isn't as unnaturally bright as mandarin. i started dying at around 5am on friday morning (as you do...) and when it was done, i slept in it and washed it out around 11ish the next morning. the result? 
totally NOT what i was expecting AT ALL. however, i do love the colour, even if it was entirely accidental :3 who knew that coral red would actually come out...er... red? 😛

I think it might actually go redder the longer you leave it on for: when I did mine last week, you can actually see the difference between the hair I put the dye on first and the bit that got dyed about 10 minutes later; the first parts are a reddy-orange whereas the later bits are just orange. So I can imagine it going quite a bit redder as time goes on! I reckon it will fade in a lovely sunset, flame kind of way - mine is now lighter at the roots and a couple of people think I've done it on purpose. Your hair was a bit darker than mine though (mine was bleached out SFX blood red, sort of an apricot colour, before I did Coral).

yeah, i knew it would be a more intense colour so i left it on overnight because i didn't think it would take so well over the auburn/ginger! actually couldn't believe how well it came out 🙂
