After 6 weeks of trying to fade my candy apple red (which lasted better than any colour I've ever tried, even those that were supposed to be permanent! ) I gave up and bleach bathed it at the weekend.
I did the bleach bath for 45 mins and came out with very blonde roots (my natural colour is dark mousey blonde ) and yellowy ginger lengths (I tried to do a before photo but it didn't come out very clear ).
For my colour I mixed (roughly, I didn't measure ) 2 parts Nuclear red to 1 part candy apple red (both special effects dye ) and came out with the exact red I've been trying for! π super bright but still with a bit of depth. I had a bit of a problem where it didn't take to the 'baby hair' at my hairline but I mixed the same ratio of colours into my conditioner and that seems to have rectified it.
I was really pleased with the coverage I got from the colour, it's really even despite my hair having orange, pink and yellow bits after the bleach bath.
Anyway here's a piccie so you can see for yourselves, I'm really happy with it and I think I'll be sticking with this colour for a while...

It looks so bright and amazing! I am blinded :).
that's one beautiful red
That looks great! If candy apple hadn't sold out, I'd probably had tried it!
Thanks ladies! I'm actually completely happy with it for once! I've got enough candy apple for a root touch up if necessary but hoping it'll come back in stock as I really want to stick to this colour.
wow amazing, i need to get me some dyes and try the mixture too. Such a gorgeous red color!
