My plan was to go pillar box red, i wanted to use rose red for its staying power so i experimented with mixing ratios and decided to mix RR 1:2 Vermillion red (orange based)
I bleached my roots & needed to overlap over to my last root application because it didn't lift enough. Virgin roots lifted well, bleach which went over my last colour application (a purple mix) this when blue...
I then did a colour b4 over the colour which lifted it but not much. I only had 1 box of colour b4 so i decided to just go for it and put my chosen colour on top and hope it covers my very uneven base (both RR & VR are very highly pigmented)
This is my result, a very deep velvety blood red, which i quite like, but am still getting used to its darkness and the unexpectedness. Its quite good actually as i am going to start applying for jobs, so having an unnatural colour wouldn't be ideal. Inside this looks quite dark, then outside its a jewel toned ruby red.
That's quite lovely.
That's actually really pretty!
I really like it too, the best Directions mix for a true pillarbox red I found was equal amounts of Fire to Poppy or Pillarbox red.
